| WELCH, Okla. - Craig County deputies say a man has been arrested for allegedly raping and then beating his mother to death. The woman's adopted son, Michael Joe Rice, 48, was arrested for rape and first degree murder. Ruth Rice, 81, was found dead inside her home in Welch Aug. 4. Craig County Sheriff Jimmie Sooter says the man confessed to the crime. | |

| It does say ADOPTED son.
It's not nearly as sick as if she were his biological mother. | |
