you mean that he's got 5 buttons on his jacket cuff instead of 4? I don't like the look, but with taller people, sometimes it evens out the appearance of the sleeve below the elbow. I wouldn't have suggested it, i probably would have talked him out of it. at least he didn't go black shirt.

Going to the ESPY's is not classy - any way you slice it.

i love the fact that it was taped, and they didn't try to hide the fact.

If he had "gone black shirt" would you have preferred that he go with the same black tie he wore or go with a white tie for visual contrast? And by the way, is it some new-fangled fashion statement to show off your areola?

Sorry about the turtleneck. First of all, this is the midwest - they don't really know the slutty cheerleader look there yet. But, you do get a nice somewhat unintentional crotch shot.

so this 15 yr old or so kid comes into the store with his mom. i ask if i can help, she says they are looking for some type of boxing gloves. back here, says I , follow me.
"for a speed bag, heavy bag, sparring with your friends?

'oh" says mom, "he's really not going to hit anyone, he's not that kind of boy, he says it for a new kind of boxing, where you just spar but don't really hit. he says they are MA gloves".

"MA?" says I. "Like Ma the word some people use for mom?"

"that's what you said, wasn't it? says his mom.

I turn and look at the kid. He's 9 shades of red.
"you mean MMA gloves, don't you?", says I.

No answer.

"Ma'am, I think he means MMA. Mixed Marial Arts. "

I get the death look from the kid.

"you know what I mean" says I to the mom. "Cage Fighting".

She stops. Looks at him. Looks at me. Looks at him.

all she says is "go get in the car. sorry to have bothered you".

I wish they had bought the gloves. I think she could have taken the kid.
