I'm pleased to report that the first WOT Meat and Eat went off swimmingly. Amid glorious fall foliage in scenic Montgomery County three of our most intrepid posters gathered for a good meal, a fine cigar, and a rousing bout of slander and mockery of those of you that were not in attendance. The greatest laughs came from a spirited discussion of POWs wifes extramarital escapades.

I'll allow my cohorts describe their sandwiches independently, but I chose the;

Broiled sharp cheese, chicken liver pate, fried onions and hot cherry peppers with garlic mayonnaise

I went with rye as the canvas for this work of art which consisted first and foremost of a really impressive amount of pate. Everything else got lost in the mix aside from the fried onions. I regret to admit that I couldn't finish it all. This was a seriously rich and very heavy meal. Fortunately, at the half way point a waitress comes by with a lipitor tablet. Once my cholesterol level dropped a bit I picked at the remaining half, but couldn't really do it much justice.

We had already enjoyed onion rings and buffalo wings as starters. The wings were kind of scrawny and a little dry, but ok. The rings were outstanding. The fryer guy is clearly a ballsy pro. He went several shades beyond the typical "golden brown" on the Max Factor color wheel of culinary doneness that is generally sought as a stopping point by more pedestrian hash slingers.

We followed up our meal with a trip to Davidus Cigars grand opening of their new Diamond Crown Cigar Lounge. There were reps on hand from JC Neuman, and I was able to pick up a few Fuente products prior to a trip down to Tampa in a few weeks where I hope to stop in at their factory. We opted for cigars in the parking lot rather than in the lounge and we further disparaged you all in between AL's lapses into his insane rantings about how Obama's going to cure the common cold and all that crapola.

I believe AL burned an Aroma De Cuba, while Dire Fromage stuck with a very dainty Jucy Lucy courtesy of the good folks at Drew Estate. I tried one of their house sticks, a cameroon. Decent for the price, but nothing earthshattering.

Next stop on the WOT road tour is projected to involve some world class BBQ at Dr. Smokes Emmittsbug establishment followed by a jaunt up to a smoke shop in Gettysburg, PA. Or possibly the smoke shop first so we can prop our bloated carcasses on the good Doctors lawn and flame up to more fully appreciate and enjoy the pork sweats.

He's sure got a purty mouth.

I knew I forgot something.

My sandwhich was number 99...decent bagette, broiled cheddar, tomatoes, bacon and two deep fried oysters. Finished the first half without hesitation too full for the second half ...and becasue of the onion rings that LSC so beautifully discribed I can honestly say ...I was finished...I wished I would have asked for LSC's sammy to be bagged ...dare I say doggie style...to go?
As far as my Jucy Lucy, AL and LSC and I in the parking lot...our first WOT tailgate ..nothing better than not making sense in person than having to type it all out. The weather was beautiful wish you were there.

You know, that is one of my favorite lines from the movies. Not sure why, just love it. (although it is actually 220...221)
