| Man assaulted over handicap spot
Annapolis - A man said he was assaulted early yesterday morning after he asked a driver to move from a handicap parking spot.
At 1 a.m., the victim, 57, was returning to his home on Copeland Street when he asked a driver to move out of the spot. It was the resident's usual spot, and the other vehicle did not have a disabled parking sticker or tag.
The victim told city police that, after the female driver moved the vehicle, the driver's boyfriend got out of the car, argued with the victim, and said "No one can talk to my girl like that," and struck the victim on the face with a glass bottle which broke on contact.
The victim had a small cut under his right eye, which was swollen shut.

| I wonder if this was the same couple...
A 23-year-old Annapolis man was arrested after he slapped, threw down and choked his live-in girlfriend, city police said.
The victim, 22, of the 1800 block of Copeland St., told police that they had gotten into an argument about 4:30 p.m. Monday, and he struck her with an open hand, threw her on the floor, and dragged her across the room by her hair.
She broke free and ran, but he caught up to her and grabbed her from behind and put her in a choke hold, police said. She bit him on the arm, which caused him to let go. She then took her 2-year-old daughter and ran from the home.
The man was arrested at the home on Tuesday morning and charged with assault. He is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center in lieu of a $15,000 bond. Police withheld her name.
Sounds like Copeland St. is the center of action in Annapolis!

| Copeland's nice, but Newtowne is the shizzle. This is from 7/23 and features one of my former students. Its nice when you know you've made a difference. His cousin, another former student, made the paper last year after tieing his girlfriend to the bed and holding her captive for a couple days.
Drug arrest
Police officers arrested a Newtowne Drive man Tuesday after they said they saw him involved in what apparently was a drug deal on Madison Street, city police said.
Officers said they saw a drug transaction take place just before 1 p.m. and approached the people involved. As they approached, one man ran away and officers caught him after a brief chase, police said.
Officers said he was carrying crack cocaine, police said.
Jeffrey Somerville, 26, was charged with drug possession with the intent to distribute, police said.

| Fairfax anger management teacher jailed in threats case Staff Report Article Launched: 07/26/2008 10:20:56 PM PDT
A Fairfax man who teaches anger management was arrested on suspicion of threatening to kill his business partners, police said. Peter Vandyk, 58, was booked into Marin County Jail on Friday on suspicion of making threats against two fellow teachers in a dispute over classes and pay. Bail was set at $200,000.
Twin Cities police Officer Patrick Torres said Vandyk's partners reported receiving threatening phone messages on Thursday. Torres contacted Fairfax police, who took Vandyk to the mental health unit at Marin General Hospital after his housemates reported he was suicidal.
Twin Cities police took him to jail after his release from the hospital.

Mostly cause chicks dig uniforms. Hmm. I suspect something more. Teacher and coach. I find this strangely undisturbing. And that disturbs me.

Doesn't Delaware border Maryland. And more importantly, didn't laststandchili say he worked in school security versus for Verizon?
