Immediate travel advice needed....
So, I have been home for all of a couple of weeks...and have already begun the itch to sleep in a hotel bed. I got my weekly TravelZoo email this morning and found seriously discounted fares from Orlando. For instance, I could travel early on Thurs (yes, it is Thanksgiving) and return Saturday night - I would have almost all of Thursday, all of Friday, and most of Saturday.
The two best deals I could find are:
MCO-PHL = $139
MCO-DTW = $149 or MCO-FNT = $185 (yeah....not real gigged up about Detroit or Flint)
MCO-HPN (White Plains, NY) = $205
MCO-MEM = $195
I really think I am going to have a hard time not going to Philadelphia. I could go to Baltimore and get crab cakes or NY/NJ and get deli....and I could have a really great excuse for turning down my Thanksgiving invites locally.
Anyone want to talk me into or out of this?

To me I think Philly is the winner. A Roast Pork, Broccoli Rabe, and Smoked Provolone hoagie from Tony Luke's and a couple of spins around the Reading Terminal Market are worth the airfare right there.
I wish I could join you but I don't think that telling my wife and 85 year-old mother that "I'm going to Philadelphia to spend Thanksgiving with a guy I met on the internet" would really be very well received.

...and didn't that get you in hot water last year?
I'd lobby for NY, so we could meet somewhere and I could escape from my loving family for a while, but I am going to be traveling to my pretend wife's family home. Sigh.

Philly is great for that week-end. The Rittenhouse Square has a restaurant called Le Croix that has a killer buffet for Thanksgiving. It isn't cheap, but well worth it. The Italian Market is an excellent place to shop and the Art Museum is one of the best in the country.
And on Thursday night if you listen real hard, you will hear Eagles fans weep.

You need to come to Flint. I'll pick you up at the airport.
We've got 3 thanksgivings to go to, so we got all your food bases covered.
Plus, you can sleep in the basement. And see Casa Del Clothier.

Don't buy this story. At best you and he will sit together in the back of his mom's minivan after they pick you up at the airport and you will sleep on his basement floor on an air bed right next to "clothier's" cot.

Let's see, Philly had Rittenhouse Square, Italian Market, and crying Iggles fans.
Flint has clothier's mom's minivan, an air mattress, and - even though he didn't mention it, I'd bet I could talk him into it - a tour of Michael Moore's old 'hood.
Tough call...very tough call.
