by the way, who the hell is paying for all of this?

if it's us, I'd rather the swear him in inside, and let him get to work.
They he can send us our share of how much money he saved us by not having this party.

Running commentary...............nice. I haven't seen any of it. We threw it on the DVR and will watch it tonight as a family.

And dude, not having seen it I don't know how bad the hat was, but you've got to R-E-S-P-E-C-T Aretha.

so they are estimating 1.4 million people on the mall.

what a load of crap. how do you esitmate it?

You know how? they figure how much square feet they have, then they figure it's a person per square foot.

Bad day to ride the Metro, no matter how you slice it.

so, he's eating lunch now with congressional leaders, and the menu is modeled off of Abe's menu. Shellfish of some kind, and vension, and Mary Lincoln's apple cake.

Did you know Jimmy Carter just had sandwiches for his luncheon?

on a more interesting note, big ups to George Washington, because he was the first leader to peacefully leave his office in the first peaceful change of power this world has ever seen. No guns, No wars, No murder, just a change of power.

How cool is that?

This young man would have approved.

FWIW, I would happily "do the Big Nasty" with Michelle Obama in the Oval Office.

And, on the subject of Presidential trivia.....

Barack Obama was sworn in by Chief Justice Roberts, a man against whom he voted for confirmation. I am not sure that there is any other president that can make that same claim.

First Lady adds some additional appeal. The VPs wife carries significantly less cache, in terms of conquest. Therefore, I will choose Mrs. Obama.

My daughter is a sophomore in high school and perhaps they are watching today. Even if she did watch already we'll watch it later at home and I'm sure the running commentary (a la Mystery Science Theatre 3000) will make it a much different experience.

My son is a sophomore in college so God only knows what he does with himself all day.

While thinking of the humor of the MST3K showing of the Inauguration at the POW household, I can't help but think back to my days as a sophomore in college - knowing EXACTLY what I was doing (and I doubt if the times have changed all that much)......

If you are alluding to the fact that you continue to spend your days pound pound pound you may want to rethink the strategy of bragging about that.

I was too busy to pay much attention. It was on, but I didn't really hear much...mostly that Charlie Brown teacher sound.

Speaking of jerking off...I didn't much care for Reverend Lowery's little trip down memory lane at the conclusion of his prayer. Whether it was intended as a joke, or as a recollection of the struggles black Americans have faced, given the fairly high probability some would be offended, it just didn't seem to belong as part of such an event.

Well, in the spirit of what passes for political discussion these days, the only explanation for you disagreeing with me can be an inability to think rationally and/or the fact you are a communist. So, which is it?
