I mention this entirely because the blond lady on the left is my former soulmate and fellow Peaches employee Kathy, and these are her friends.
Thought you guys might enjoy a bit of strange.

Two things:

(1) Yes, I, too, am genuinely surprised that bbqboy is or was apparently hetero. Who knew?

(b) And while we ALL knew that bbqboy sure the heck wasn't a Tower, Sam Goody or FYE kind of guy, I really would've put him more in the Strawberries versus Peaches record store category. Regardless, rock-on.

I have a question.

Did she know she was your soulmate? If yes, good for you...if not, this may be something covered under those new stricter stalking laws.

Another question...

What is a "peaches"?

Back in the pre-historic days there used to be something called a record store. "Peaches" (now defunct), was one of these relics.

When I web-searched for a photo (see below) of a "Peaches", the one that came up first just happened to be the store in Tulsa, where I used to shop when I landed here in 1980.

How Quaint!

Records you say?

I got about 500 in crates in the garage. Peaches never made it to the Northeast. We had Sam Goody, Record World, and the record section at TSS.

I still have the discwasher. I got mine at Needle in a Haystack when I lived in DC.

I had forgotten about that place. I think I lived down there when they were all raided. I was low on funds in the late 80's. I used to drink nail polish remover with Kitty Dukakis.

wierd, man. that looks just like the record store we used to have here in town. Ours was called Grapevine records and tapes. First time I was ever in there, I was with a couple of friends. The girl bought fleetwood mac's Rumours, and the dude bought Cheap Trick:Live at Budakon.

wierd that i remember it.
