Odd Couple
The talk of Buffalo on another site made me think of one of my favorite episodes of the Odd Couple, when Felix moves to Buffalo. I couldn't find that episode online, but did find this gem.

Re: Odd Couple
The Password episode was one of my favorites. I also liked the episode where Felix and Oscar go bowling - and Felix hears the voice of God (the lane attendant). I can't find that one, but this is also a classic...

Re: Odd Couple
I was really hoping that hulu.com would have episodes of Odd Couple.
WKRP in Cicninnati....check.
Barney Miller....check.
Welcome Back, Kotter....check. (a show that does not hold up at all, BTW)
I Dream of Jeannie.....check.
No damned Odd Couple.

Re: Odd Couple
i believe that Mr Klugman and Mr Randall somehow managed to own the rights to the show, and have managed to keep it only on DVD and are most litigous about it.

Re: Odd Couple
I know Randall is still alive and breeding, but somehow I thought Klugman kicked the bucket.

Scratch that. Reverse it.
Mr. Randall died in 2004 - leaving behind a young wife and an almost equally young daughter. Mr. Klugman is still ticking - and, for all I know, has the potential to breed.
While double-checking this information, I did see that this fine episode (while not the Odd Couple) is available for free online!

Re: Odd Couple
I am sure that hulu.com pays a licensing fee for use of the shows that they air. They do air commercials (fewer than standard television). So, they would, theoretically, be generating revenue - without the hassle of producing, packaging, marketing and distributing DVDs.
There are some older shows that are just tough to find - Get Smart comes to mind. When they finally released the complete seasons on DVD, there was enough pent up demand that they didn't have to discount them heavily - like a lot of shows that you can find for ~$10/season.
I don't doubt what you say about the rights be tightly held. Another particular one that comes to mind is The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson - very little old footage ever leaks out from that, too.
At least I can still watch Charles in Charge episodes for free online.
