Just Venting

Okay...so I have an old van that needs replacing. Local fire department has ad in paper they are accepting sealed bids on van. I go, spend an hour looking over, researching prices, put in bid, wait...I lose. No big deal.

Today, out of curiosity I look on ebay for similar van. I see very same one I bid on is now for sale on eBay. Price is way higher than minimum bid set by fire department. The eBay seller is actually a local used car and truck dealer who has his own web page.

I go to web page and both vans that had been up for auction are listed in ads on his dealer pages. At bottom of ad is notice "available at end of September", which is when bidding closed. Using the old secret search method, I check and see these pages listing these vans as "available in late September" were written in August...meaning the whole fucking auction was rigged, and they knew who would be getting the vans months before the auction ended.

I am pissed off because 1.) I may very well have been the high bidder and 2.) because they wasted my time on an auction they knew was rigged and faked.

This really pisses me off because I didn't get the van, and because these guys are using public money, MY money, and playing shady games. I wonder if someone was paid off to rig this damn auction.
